Where the doors actually are, chain by chain. Chains listed: Whole Foods, Gelson's, Sprouts, Erewhon.
This is our home market. Fr8topia is headquartered in Valencia, which puts our base inside the service area rather than an hour from it. The Valley also holds the densest Gelson's concentration anywhere in the chain.
Seven markets across the Valley and Conejo corridor: Encino, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, Toluca Lake, Valley Village, Calabasas and Westlake Village. No other area we serve has this many Gelson's doors.
Roughly eight stores, including three in Sherman Oaks plus Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Burbank, Glendale and Santa Clarita.
About six locations, including Granada Hills, Studio City, West Hills, Woodland Hills and two serving the Santa Clarita and Valencia area.
Three markets: Calabasas, Studio City and Glendale, the last of which opened in May 2026.
Store counts reflect publicly published store-locator data and are reviewed quarterly. Fr8topia is an independent freight broker and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any retailer named here.
Direct store delivery and distribution center routing are different freight problems. Here is which one applies.
The Valley is a mixed market, and the Gelson's density is what makes it distinctive.
Direct store delivery. With seven Gelson's doors plus three Erewhon markets, the Valley carries a heavy direct store delivery load. Those stores sit close enough together that a single refrigerated multi-stop route can cover several of them, which is a meaningful economic difference from running the same drop count spread across a wider county.
Distribution center routed. Whole Foods freight routes through the Southern Pacific distribution center in Vernon. Sprouts freight routes through the Fullerton distribution center in Orange County. Neither chain receives most brand freight directly at Valley stores.
The practical upshot for a brand: your Gelson's and Erewhon volume is a local multi-stop problem, and your Whole Foods and Sprouts volume is an appointment at a DC outside the Valley entirely.
