Where the doors actually are, chain by chain. Chains listed: Lassens, Gelson's, Whole Foods, Erewhon, Mother's Market.
Central Los Angeles is the independent and legacy natural grocery core of the city. It is a smaller door count than the Westside, but it carries the chains that built the natural channel in Los Angeles before the premium market existed.
All three of the chain's Los Angeles stores sit here: Echo Park, La Brea and Los Feliz. Lassens is a family run California natural foods chain with ten total locations, so this cluster is a meaningful share of the whole company.
Two markets, Hollywood and Silver Lake.
The Silver Lake market on Santa Monica Boulevard, plus the Erewhon cafe at LACMA on Wilshire. A roughly 17,500 square foot Downtown market at Hill and Olympic was announced in February 2026.
Including the Downtown flagship at 788 South Grand Avenue and the Silver Lake store.
One Hollywood location, one of only two the chain operates outside Orange County.

Direct store delivery and distribution center routing are different freight problems. Here is which one applies.
Central Los Angeles is the most direct store delivery weighted area we serve.
Direct store delivery dominates. Lassens, Gelson's and Erewhon all receive a high share of freight directly at the store. For a brand, that is the lowest barrier to entry in the region: you can be on shelf in Echo Park or Los Feliz without ever qualifying for a distribution center program. It also means the freight is small drops into dense urban retail, which is a different job than a dock appointment in an industrial park.
Distribution center routed. Whole Foods freight routes through the Southern Pacific distribution center in Vernon, which sits just southeast of this area.
Central Los Angeles is often where an emerging natural brand starts, because the independent and legacy chains here will take a small brand that a national distributor program will not.

The area carries all three Lassens stores in Los Angeles, two Gelson's markets in Hollywood and Silver Lake, Erewhon in Silver Lake, Whole Foods including the Downtown flagship, and the Hollywood Mother's Market. Fr8topia moves brand freight into these doors on behalf of CPG shippers.
Yes. We coordinate refrigerated and frozen deliveries into Lassens locations on behalf of the brands that sell there. All three of the chain's Los Angeles stores, Echo Park, La Brea and Los Feliz, sit within this service area, and Lassens also operates stores in Ventura County and along the Central Coast.
Yes. Downtown is part of this service area, anchored by the Whole Foods flagship at 788 South Grand Avenue. Erewhon announced a roughly 17,500 square foot Downtown market at Hill and Olympic in February 2026, which will add another premium natural grocery door to the area.
Mostly smaller direct store deliveries rather than distribution center appointments. Lassens, Gelson's and Erewhon all receive a high share of freight directly at the store, which makes this area a common starting point for emerging natural brands that do not yet qualify for a national distributor program.
